Software Customizations

ACCESS International approaches each project from a strategic, long-term partnering perspective by building proper foundations to support evolving customer's needs. Our software has the flexibility to adapt to your organization's development, the infrastructure to accommodate complex fundraising structures, and the security to protect your most valuable asset- your constituent's records. This high-minded internal standard is supported by the same components that have lead to our company's successes and lessons learned while working with non-profit organizations for the past 30 years.

During implementation, we work with you to both define how Enterprise will be used as well as develop up-to-date best practices that allow their organizations to grow efficiently. We analyze the organization's current business operations and offer strategies to strengthen best business practices using Enterprise coding structures, reports, selections and data import and export layouts. The resulting training plan, curriculum and end-user process guides are customized to meet the subtleties of each institution.

Customizations to your software should be a natural extension of the Business Analysis process because of the idiosyncrasies of all non-profit institutions. Once we achieve an understanding of your business needs, we evaluate both how existing Enterprise features support those needs, as well as what site-specific customizations need to be developed to provide you with the most efficient and comprehensive application possible.

Custom modifications are also fully incorporated into the product so that they are available when the customer receives an upgrade. This means that you do not have to pay for the customization at every release or upgrade. To accommodate more immediate needs, ACCESS International allows you to decide if you would like to have a modification immediately or during the next product release. Your organization will not pay for any modifications until they are completely built, tested, and approved.

The primary activities involved in product modifications are as follows:

Product Change Definition and Scope
An ACCESS International Project Manager will craft a detailed Product Change Specification that encompasses the functionality your site requires. The Development team will then determine the necessary resources, and provide a timeline for development.

Development and Quality Assurance
Upon completion of the programming, the Developers and the Quality Assurance Managers will test the modification to ensure that all requirements from the Product Change Specification are met. Product testing encompasses both standardized and specialized testing specific to the programming change.  Quality Assurance will work with the Developer to validate and fix defects found during the test phase.

Modifications and Enhancements to Enterprise are programmed into the Development "track" (our non-commercial releases) of the software.  ACCESS International will coordinate the release of the new functionality in accordance with your project schedule and that of other customer modification commitments.
